I became a Knick fan following Melo from Denver. I stayed after he went to Houston. Hasn’t been easy but I’m glad they are again becoming respectable.
I don’t have the nostalgic memories of Oakley so I wasn’t too tied to the incident at MSG. To me I wasn’t too frustrated as other Knicks fans.

This is the 1st time NYK is even in contention for a spot since the last time they made the playoffs at all in 2013. What happened then? They got swept. But that’s neither here nor there. For 35-40 years, being a Knicks fan, regardless of how many playoff games they do or don’t win, has been nothing but a pipe dream because it’s been that long since the last time they did anything serious. And although they have a young core that’s on the rise it’ll probably be another few years before the effects of that core become positive ones. If they become positive ones, that is. If they don’t just do like every other young, talented New York Knick and choose to play for an actual contending team. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Oh, the Knicks.
